On May 30th, 2025, Zanzibar Startup Association (ZSA) was honored to be officially invited to the AfIGF 2025 Side Event, co-hosted by THN and GIZ Tanzania. This exclusive gathering brought together 30 influential stakeholders across Africa to engage in high-level dialogue around digital inclusion, with a focus on empowering women, youth, and marginalized communities through actionable strategies and inclusive digital transformation.
As a key voice representing the innovation ecosystem in Zanzibar, ZSA contributed insights on the importance of decentralizing entrepreneurship support and bridging digital gaps in underserved areas. During the event, we participated in World Café discussions and collaborative sessions that emphasized the role of
grassroots innovation, youth leadership, and gender-focused digital access as essential drivers for inclusive development across the continent.
Our presence at AfIGF 2025 reinforced ZSA’s commitment to fostering a startup environment that leaves no one behind. We continue to advocate for inclusive policies, accessible digital tools, and strategic partnerships that empower local innovators. This event marked an important step in amplifying Zanzibar’s role in shaping Africa’s digital future — one that is equitable, inclusive, and built for all.
